Many people ask: what is the relationship between Scrum and Agile? Or Scrum and Extreme Programming?

Simply, Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Crystal, DSDM and other name methodologies are all examples of Agile methodologies. Each has its own focus, processes and practices.

Agile is a collective term to group all of these methods and it is a more general philosophy which all these methods subscribe too. Agile itself can be seen as a form of Lean thinking - as pioneered by Toyota.
